GLP-1 Quiz Part 2 - Nutritious Life: Healthy Tips, Healthy Recipes, Exercise

  • GLP-1 Optimizer™ Certification Exam

  • Part 2: Video / Written

Please record a video of yourself with responses to the following 4 questions / scenarios. You can also share any thoughts in writing but we do require the video (you can record it using quicktime or on your phone and upload into the Google drive we provide for you) for your test to be considered complete.

Please start each response with “In my role as a ___________” (indicating your practitioner or coach status)

Question / Scenario 1) With this certification you now add a powerful tool to your services - who you can support and how you can support those individuals - can be done more effectively. In seeking to attract and convert prospects into paying clients or patients, how would you describe the services that you specifically provide? (This could also be a conversation that you have in seeking a collaboration with other practitioners or businesses that provide services to clients you wish to support. Consider how you will introduce GLP-1 optimization or the outcomes of improved weight health.)

Question / Scenario 2) I am Stacy, a 52 year old perimenopausal woman with a history of digestive issues and weight challenges. I feel overall healthy but have struggled more in the last two years with gaining weight, undesirable body changes and am concerned about my moods - I am not as hopeful or optimistic as I have typically been. I do a lot - supplements, fitness, wearables for sleep and blood sugar and have lots of labs. I try to get plenty of protein. I feel hungry ALL the time so it's really hard to stop eating - and I work out a lot so I feel like I need a lot of nutrition. I definitely have been having more cortados and dark chocolate than I should but caffeine is really helping me with energy to workout and to get all my other stuff done so maybe it is actually a good thing? I am allergic to barley and penicillin. I don’t think I tolerate meat so I don’t eat it. I gave up alcohol two years ago. My periods are really heavy. I saw your post online which sent me to your website and in a moment of desperation and hope I decided to reach out. Can you help me? Do I need Ozempic? Will it even work for me? Maybe I need estrogen / progesterone creams. To complete your answer, please share your plan, your thought process for how you came to those recommendations, how you would prioritize next steps and how you and the patient will measure her results (what does the follow up care plan look like)? This should be no longer than 10 minutes. You can provide written materials (not more than 1 page) to support your video.

Question / Scenario 3) I am a 41 year old man who has been on Tirzepatide for 10 months now. I have lost 57 lbs and feel great though I am concerned about how weak I am. I feel like I have lost a lot of muscle. But I do still work out just not as heavy and now 1-2 times a week for weights and 2-3 times a week cardio. I had high cholesterol and it is good now, so is my blood sugar - I was prediabetic; I no longer have sleep apnea - I used to use a C-pap at night. I don’t take any supplements. I used to take vitamin D and magnesium at night but I stopped once I started the Tirzepatide. I didn’t have any of the side effects some people have on the medication. I am not hungry until lunch so I usually have coffee with a splash of cream in the morning and then have lunch about 1pm. It is some sort of protein like chicken or a burger and I don’t have the bun. I usually have another coffee or if it is warm out I have iced tea and I may eat a few bites of salad or if I get Chipotle I will get the fajitas veggies in a bowl and add some guacamole and cheese - no rice or beans. Mid-afternoon I have a Quest or Builder bar and another coffee and then I have dinner. My wife is a great cook so I eat whatever she makes. Usually some protein and veggies. I might have a little bite of ice cream after but I have stopped night eating. I have great energy so I am up until about 11 or 11:30 though I feel like I should go to bed earlier like 10 when she does. And then the dogs and kids usually have me up by about 5:45 / 6 am unless it's the weekend and then more like 7 am. I don’t really drink at home. If I am out for work or with my wife we may have 1-2 drinks. I also like a cigar on the weekend or some chewing tobacco if I am watching a sports event. I feel like I am about 10 pounds from where I want to be goal-wise. I am 6’4” and now weigh 210lbs. I haven’t been under 200 since college. I played baseball then. I just had a DEXA and it said my bodyfat was 30% which seems really high. My visceral fat was 112. I am not sure if I am ready or want to stop the medication but once my BMI is under 25 they don’t want me on it anymore. I am really scared I will regain all my weight. I really want to address bodyfat and low muscle issues. How can you help me?

Question / Scenario 4) Please describe 3 things that are presented publicly today as nutrition “facts” that after taking this course you find problematic as general advice for someone looking to improve their weight and / or blood sugar? Describe how you would educate the public or in private with clients / patients about how this advice may not be personally applicable to them and how your approach is designed to help them identify their better choices.
